They're a different beast. Orvis bamboo is great but usually more expensive. Headwaters focuses on classic tapers and makes them more accessible. You're getting a really good rod without the crazy price tag.

I've cast both. Headwaters really nails those historic tapers, so you get that traditional feel. Orvis might have more modern aesthetics or unique tapers, but for classic performance at a better price, Headwaters is solid.
